Leah + Dane // Late September Winnetu Wedding

September has to be my favorite months on the island. The weather is still warm (but not too hot!) and the crowds have lessened. Plus all the private beaches open up! It’s also an incredibly busy time during wedding season and luckily we were able to work with Dane and Leah as they tied the knot at with a dreamy ceremony at the Winnetu resort in Edgartown. It was one of those days where we had one eye towards the sky the whole morning but got so lucky! No rain just beautiful soft light for first look and our bridal party shots at the Edgartown light house! Guys really, us photographers love a gray sky!

Afterwards we road in the old Winnetu jitney back to the resort and managed to fit in a quick portrait session on the Katama airfield. The ceremony overlooking South Beach was incredibly sweet and the party afterwards was a blast, including late night snacks at Dock Street Diner! We might have to copy that one! Thanks so much for having us guys!

Best of 2017

2017 has been so good to us! We traveled all along the east coast and got to meet so many incredible people. Couples who let us give them photographs that will be with them for a lifetime. It really feels so special to connect with people this way. Roy and I just want to thank you for trusting us, for letting us share these moments with you and your loved ones. We witnessed a lot of true love this year and gosh, it was both rewarding and humbling.

We've pulled together some of our favorites from 2017 below. Each image brought back such a sweet memory. For our 2017 couples: THANK YOU! We are so lucky to have met and befriended you, we really can't wait to see where you guys go next. For our 2018 buddies: get ready! Roy and I seriously cannot wait to party with you next year. Seriously, going through some of these engagement sessions was like, killing us with anticipation. We love you all so much and are so excited to see what this new year brings!

Wishing you all a seriously happy holidays and New Year!

Rebecca + Marc // Clam Bake at the Chappaquiddick Beach Club

Guys, what could be more New England-y than a clam bake? We couldn't have been more excited to photograph Rebecca and Marc's at the beautiful Chappaquiddick Beach Club. The Club has to be one of my favorite venues on Martha's Vineyard. I just love the red, white and blue cabanas and the view of Edgartown harbor; it's such a special place! Rebecca and Plan It MV really put together a beautiful evening, too! After sipping on cocktails, taking in the sunset and a few games of corn hole, guests ate on an authentic New England clam bake by the famous Bill Smith crew. All in all, an incredible evening!

Jackie + Tim // East Chop Beach Club Rehearsal Dinner

Sometimes a rehearsal dinner is just so lovely it deserves it's own blog post and this is one of those times! Jackie and Tim put together an incredible evening for friends and family at the East Chop Beach Club. With flowers by Morning Glory Farm, tasty oysters and Mike Benjamin and his band setting the mood, everyone had an incredible time! We even had time to sneak away for some sunset photos, which was totally necessary at this incredible venue. I personally really love shooting rehearsal dinners because it gives us a chance to meet and get to know the family before the big day. So glad we could share this one with Jackie and Tim. Thanks again guys!

Jackie + Tim // Martha's Vineyard Wedding

A few weekends ago we had one of our last weddings on Martha's Vineyard for this season. It's SO hard to say goodbye to the Summer but boy did this wedding help us forget our sadness for a while!

We spent Friday and Saturday with our amazing couple Jackie and Tim. It was such a pleasure getting to know them and their families while celebrating their love!

Friday evening at the East Chop Beach Club was sublime. All week there were threats of rain but by the time Friday rolled around, the weather decided to give us a beautiful overcast and misty sky instead; perfect for beach photos! We loved walking out on the dock and finding some other secluded spots for portraits of these two :)

Saturday was a bit brighter out but that didn't stop us from getting some lovely shots of Tim and Jackie's First Look at the East Chop Lighthouse!  All the locations for the day were so close to each other in Oak Bluffs we got to walk around everywhere; down to Our Lady Star of the Sea for the ceremony and right down the street to Sweet Life Café for a beautiful dinner and reception. Such a pretty outdoor patio space and WOW the food was incredible!

All in all Jackie and Tim gave us one of our favorite weekends of the summer! Here's a selection of some of our favorite photos that hopefully do it justice!

Nicole + Angad // Martha's Vineyard Engagement Photo Session in Aquinnah

Ah!! We love doing engagement shoots to get to know a couple before shooting their wedding! Nicole and Angad were one of our last engagement sessions for this summer and we were so glad to have them come out from near Washington, DC to the island on such a beautiful weekend.

We started shooting at the lighthouse on the Aquinnah Cliffs with AMAZING weather and light. It’s so nice when Mother Nature works in our favor and boy did she for this one! Soft golden light and the wind catching Nicole’s dress and red hair.. I honestly felt like we were in the English Moors.

We walked down the path leading to Philbin Beach and set up in the meadow there. So many gorgeous locations in Aquinnah that helped make this shoot feel magical! By the cliffs, in the fields.. so much lush beauty this time of year. And so nice to spend time with such a serene couple who didn’t mind rolling around in the grass to get the shot! You could really see how in love these two were.

Meredith + Scott // Engagement Photo Session in Dumbo, Brooklyn

It’s a really special feeling when you get to reconnect with an old friend after years on separate life paths. Even better when it’s because your old friend is getting married and you get to be apart of their special day! Having grown up together on the Vineyard, it was such a treat catching up with Meredith and meeting her fiancé Scott. They just relocated to New York so we had to take advantage of the classic scenery!

We all spent the afternoon in beautiful DUMBO, managing to get some perfect shots with both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges in the background! So much gorgeous old architecture in the area made it hard to turn around without finding another location to showcase these two’s love! We wandered around for a while and topped off the evening with some drinks and burgers at a bar in the area.

Really can’t wait for Meredith and Scott’s wedding on Martha’s Vineyard next year!

Ashley, Nick + Ava Rose // Martha's Vineyard Family Portraits at Fuller Street Beach, Edgartown

We had such a great weekend on Martha’s Vineyard; catching the last days of the Agricultural Fair (so many baby goats!), another round of fireworks in the park in Oak Bluffs and a beautiful family portrait shoot with these 3! Ashley, Nick and 4-month old Ava are the sweetest, splitting time between the Vineyard and NYC like us, we caught them in the afternoon on a gorgeous Edgartown beach where they were spending time with some friends and family. I don’t think we took one photo where Ava wasn’t smiling ear to ear! So lovely meeting up with such a happy couple and their adorable baby!

Lauren + Zack // Fort Tyron Park Engagement Photo Shoot

Sometimes our job lets us explore new places in our own backyard and this engagement session with Lauren and Zack did just that! We met up at Fort Tyron Park this past Sunday evening and I was totally blown away. Such a lush, beautiful spot for photos! We even saw the cutest groundhog running around and ended the shoot with an amazing sunset. It was so great exploring the park with these two and I can't wait for their wedding at the Red Barn up at Hampshire College next Summer!

Rachel + Johan // Summer Philly Wedding

Ok I admit it, I cry at weddings. But waterworks really showed up for this one: Rachel and Johan’s lovely wedding in Philadelphia. When your best bud’s sister gets married and you get to shoot their wedding? What a treat!

I’ve known the Ford family since I first moved to New York City. Katie and John, Rachel’s siblings, were my roommates in Greenpoint and I still call them my closest friends. Rachel is the cool sister that lived in Philly, and I remember one time she came to visit and we all went dancing, it was such a fun night! So when she got engaged and asked me to shoot her wedding, I just knew that the whole day was going to be magical.

The girls got ready at Hotel Monaco and the ceremony was held right in front of a beautiful fountain at Franklin Square. Afterwards, Rachel, Johan and I stole away for some portrait time at Rittenhouse Park, probably some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken. That light! Then dinner and dancing back at the hotel and ending with some hoagies at Wawa. All in all, an incredible evening. Thanks again guys!!

Hannah + Ryan // Martha's Vineyard Oak Bluffs Sailing Camp Wedding

Wow what a day!! I think Hannah and Ryan might be the perfect all American couple. They had such a stunner of a wedding at Sailing Camp Park in Oak Bluffs, I can't wait to share these photos with you!

Hannah, our beautiful bride, got ready at Sea Spa Salon in Edgartown and finished getting dressed at Summercamp hotel. Ryan and the guys also got dressed at Summercamp after a quick dip and a round of ping pong! Thanks to my mom’s good friend Lorna we were able to take some bridal party photos in the Campground at one of the cutest Gingerbread houses, too. SO MUCH PINK!

After that, my partner in crime, Roy, helped me set up their first look at Sailing Camp Park where the ceremony and reception was held. Such a beautiful location! The weather was perfect, the people were so nice and hilarious, and everything went along without a hitch. Hannah and Ryan, you guys are the sweetest and so in love. It was truly an honor to document your day!

Megan + James // New Jersey Misty Summer Wedding at Lake Mohawk

WOW! Really wow.

I knew this wedding was going to be fun the first time I met Megan and James over coffee. Megan, a teacher and James, a self proclaimed liberal auto mechanic, are so in love and I really gotta say that this was one of those dream weddings to shoot! Every detail was so beautifully thought out, from the lavender color palette to the simple beach ceremony right on the edge of Lake Mohawk. James even built a bike for their getaway, complete with tin cans! Gosh, I really couldn't have asked for more. It’s so fun when the couples esthetic aligns perfectly with our vision. Also, gotta say, Megan your dad is probably the best dancer I've ever seen!

Thanks again Megan and James for trusting us with such an important day!

Julia + Ian // Martha's Vineyard Edgartown Lighthouse Engagement Shoot

What can I even say about these two?!! Roy and I had the best time with Julia and Ian on Martha's Vineyard over Memorial Day weekend. It was one of those classic nasty weather forecasts that magically clears up just when you need it to. We started off by getting to know each other over beers at the Seafood Shanty in Edgartown and then headed over to the lighthouse by the Harbor View Hotel. The light was perfect!

I loved this shoot, learning more about their lives and how they fell in love. Cannot wait for this wedding next year! Thanks again Julia and Ian!

Charles + Hayley // New Jersey Winter Wedding at the Ryland Inn

I’m so excited to share some snaps from Charles and Hayley’s incredible wedding at the Ryland Inn! This was my first wedding of 2017 and if they’re all this sweet and inspiring, I gotta say 2017 is going to be a good year. I worked with the talented Alisha Seigel on this one and right away we felt like part of the family. Charles’ mother even offered me a to go bag of homemade Italian cookies, what a treat! From the beautiful ceremony at St. Pius X Church to running around in the freezing woods behind the Ryland Inn taking photos, Charles and Hayley were down for an adventure. Hayley was such a trooper in her sleeveless dress when we encountered a brief snow flurry! I really think that their love comes through in these photos and I’m so so happy to share them with you. Thanks for letting me be apart of your wedding day guys!
